Constructive criticism is always welcome on any of my work -- I embrace it happily. By all means, let me know if my perspective is off here, or the shading needs work there. I am not one to censor comments that give me insight to the piece and let me know what needs to be fixed.
I will, however, not put up with immature comments or wanky comments. I am not a twelve-year-old internet drama h0r, and I refuse to deal with it. I won't hesitate to hide comments or block users where the following is concerned:
"OMG GROSS PAIRING."
- I'm sorry you don't appreciate the beauty I find in a pairing. Do you walk around in real life saying that? Do you see a couple across the street and just shriek, 'OH GROSS WHY ARE YOU TWO TOGETHER!?!?!' I certainly hope not.
"THIS IS STUPID."
- Then why did you click on the link? Why are you looking at it? Why are you wasting precious, precious time writing a comment to something that you find so stupid?
"OMG SPOILER WARNING YOU BITCH."
- If you want to avoid spoilers for something, then maybe you shouldn't go looking at art, eh?
"THIS IS OKAY BUT YOU SHOULD CHECK OUT MY ART/FANFIC."
- What? This is not an advertising forum. My gallery is not a bloody flea market. GTFO.
It should be noted that I'm open all of these, so long as they're worded in a polite and well-mannered way. How hard is it to say, "Well, I'm not a fan of this pairing, but *insert likes/dislikes about the piece*." Or how about, "I like/dislike this, let me elaborate some... blah blah blah, oh, and you might consider putting a spoiler warning up, just in case!" Or even, "Ohhh this is great!/awful!/weird! It reminds me of a scene I wrote, here's the link..."
Seriously, people. Let's stop acting like we're in middle school, learn some manners, and be polite to one another. Also? Acting like a prick if I block you or hide your comments won't help matters.
Now that it's off of my chest, I'll end this. Thank you.
